Year completed: 2023
Software/languages used: Articulate Storyline 360, Photoshop/

Description: Designed and developed a gamified version of this 13 module program on Neuroscience Pain Releif. The goal was to engage Pain patients and persuade participation in a multi week physical therapy session to learn about Neuroscience Pain Control Methods and to practice Meditation and Neuroscience techniques.

The solution involved creating a videogame based on a virtual journey to climb to the top of mount everest. Using realistic mountain climbing content including video and photos of an actual professional climb of Everest, create a game environment that combined testing of Neuroscience knowledge to collect resources needed to climb the 12 camping stations to the summit and win the game.

Client: Joseph Walker MD.

Using a variety of record keeping devices like life bars, and bread crumbs and resource banks, the learner navigated the lessons keeping track vital mountaineering resources and regulating then replenishing resources through selection and practice with the meditation games.

Before and after assesments, the learner is shown The Taking Inventory screen allowing the learner to monitor the climbing game personal resources and decide which Neuroscience activity to participate in and replenish the resources required.

The Insight Meditation App: A guided meditation app using narration, music and animation to involve the learner in Insight Meditation techniques. The learner earned Food and Water resources for each climbing camp section. Length of time and number of cycles is used to award percentage points.

Midjourney AI images used throughout for title screens and backgrounds.
The Resource Map is displayed before and after physical therapy session on each showing progress through the course of 12 modules and the overall number of minutes and hours spent in Neuroscience Pain Eliviation Techniques.
The Calm Breathing App: A guided meditation app using narration, music and animation to involve the learner in Neuroscince Breathing techniques. The learner earned Oxygen resources for each climbing camp section. Length of time and number of cycles is used to award percentage points.
The Graded Motor Imagery App: A recognition mapping app using narration, music and animation to involve the learner in Neuroscince Motor Imagery techniques. The learner earned GPS resources for each climbing camp section. Number of correct matches and time are used to award GPS percentage points..
